about fatemeh
My name is Fatemeh Hashemi, and I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) who has been providing behavioral health services in Southern California since 2009. I am originally from California, but I traveled throughout the Middle East during my childhood before returning to California.

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with children and adults on a variety of issues such as, depression, anxiety, trauma, racism, etc.
In my work, I use a wide variety of treatment approaches such as, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, etc. I have also had experience offering support on a variety of conditions such as ADHD, anxiety, depression, parent child relationships, etc. Some of the treatment approaches I use are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Parent Child Interactive Therapy (PCIT). I also hold certificates as a Certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator, Certified Youth Mental Health Specialist, and Certified ADHD Clinical Services Provider which allows me to incorporate specialized tools and techniques when working with children, families, and adults.

I believe it is crucial to create a safe space that offers a nurturing environment, allows for open communication, empowerment, advocacy, and collaboration. It is through ongoing collaboration and communication that a therapeutic relationship is strengthened, allowing for best outcomes.

Due to having a multicultural background and being bilingual (English and Farsi), I have experience offering culturally affirming therapy to children and adults from various cultural and religious backgrounds such as Middle Eastern, East Asian, Asian, etc.

Thank you for taking the time to get to know me. I look forward to empowering and supporting you through your mental health journey!
